Dana L. Davis, PHR, is Staffing Services Manager for Phillips Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) in Livonia, MI.  PSI oversees a diverse collection of technology-based companies around the country that serve a wide variety of international customers, from Fortune 1000 companies to the U.S. military in industries ranging from automotive, aerospace and defense, to energy, security, medical and semiconductor.  Dana is responsible for developing company-wide recruitment and selection strategies aimed at ensuring just-in-time talent while utilizing new and emerging media and related tools.  Her role includes staffing management duties such as retention, advancement, and vendor management as well as assisting with initiatives designed to formalize various HR programs, helping control operating costs, protecting company assets by ensuring legal compliance in HR practices, and maintaining an environment that attracts, retains and motivates the best talent.

Prior to her role at PSI, Dana was Recruiting & Diversity Manager at the Detroit-based law firm of Butzel Long. Although her primary area of concentration was recruiting and retention, she was involved in various other areas of the business including diversity strategic planning and benefits management.  Dana began her HR career as an HR Department-of-One at a boutique law firm in Ann Arbor, MI.  Her work has been recognized in various local publications, and she was awarded Corp! Magazine’s Diversity Leaders Award in 2010.

Dana currently serves as the President of the Human Resources Association of Greater Detroit (HRAGD), the Detroit-area chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).  She is an active, founding Board of Directors member of the Michigan Diversity Council (MIDC) and member of the Greater Detroit National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (GDNAAAHR).  Dana also enjoys dedicating her volunteer time to the Michigan Women’s Foundation (MWF) and has served on its Annual Dinner Committee.

Dana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish and a secondary teaching certificate from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.  She is PHR-certified and is now pursuing a Masters degree in Management with a concentration in Marketing at Walsh College in Troy, MI.
